We are nearing the end of this year’s blog frenzy. This is the last post – on my blog – you are reading in our little NaBloPoMo challenge. Here are a few snippets on how shaping NabloPoMo in 2024 looked like for me.

This year was really fun. It started easy over a weekend which made me feel like I can handle it. In keeping up with all the reading. And I managed to stay on rack until November 13th when I started getting behind. Currently 138 unread blogposts sit in my Feedly folder. As every year I want to promise I will get to them but I have never managed with the Christmas shenanigans on the horizon. So I won’t promise anything today – which doesn’t mean I am not trying.

I had prepared 7 or 8 blogposts going in or they were almost finished and just needed an image or final touches. Which made it easier. Only 3 posts were written the day they were published. So I am starting to having a pro-approach. I was inspired by Julie who had everything prepared so she could focus on commenting.

Commenting and getting comments is the most fun during NaBloPoMo I think. So I really made an effort to read everyone’s post AND leave a comment. Just on some where few ones I did not ( and I have a feeling sometimes it wasn’t saved correctly). Overall I left 546 comments on blogs in November.

Favorite Posts I came across

Between all the life updates and current happiness there are always some fun evergreen posts that are inspiring or educational. Here are my favorites.

  • An announcement by Hanna about her 2025 photo challenge
  • Money saving tips for booking flights from Kyria
  • Tina has written a beautiful post about silence and added stunning photos.
  • Allison has shared some valuable thoughts and ideas on not to hate.
  • I am in love LOVE with xxx art practice of creating a lexicon
  • Melissa took us a long her Europe journey and the Camino pilgrimage

New Blogs I came across

This year we had quite a few new people in our community. Always a treat to get to know other fellow bloggers.

  • iHanna from Studio iHanna – a fun art blog from Sweden focusing on paper, photography and sewing.
  • Karen Meg from At a Time – finding her creativity in writing and sharing here life on the go
  • Meg from Megakaos2013 – lots of jewelry creation
  • Jamie from Light & Momentary – thoughts on life with some humor
  • Julie from Me and My Quilts – I fell in love with the Lexiton art. So beautiful.
  • Tammy from Daisy Yellow – – another art blog from the US. All things paper and journaling can be found.

    Great roundup Tobia!

I will try to answer the questions in my own last NaBloPoMo blog post.

I want to send you a great big THANK YOU for all your lovely comments, especially in the beginning of the month. It has been really sweet to get to know you!

Thank you for the shout out and being part of this experience.

Thank you for stopping by so regularly. It was really really fun finding another creative blog out in the blogosphere. I used to follow only creative blogs but they all have fizzled away. I am looking forward reading your blog in the coming months… even if not daily.

I love this round up and am so excited that I got a shout out. I have enjoyed following along with you this month and am so glad to meet a new blog friend! I know I had always seen your comments on other’s blogs before but never really popped over to say hi, so HI, and thanks for being so dedicated to commenting this year! I really appreciated your comments and your replies to my comments along the way!

Same for me… I have seen you around and have skimmed the occasional blog post when it was mentioned somewhere else but it is different reading along more thoroughly and getting to know the person behind. I am looking forward to your Europe trip. Some of the places I have not been even though I saw a lot already.
Thank you so much for stopping by and reading along.
I think there are quite a few posts I need to catch up on your blog so I hope to get to it soon.

I had a lot of fun reading and commenting. By taking Sundays off, it did feel more sustainable than last year and it really fit in with my Year of Shmita.

A few days ago I told myself I wouldn’t participate next year and now that I’m at the end of NaBloPoMo I’m thinking…maybe I will? I have a few months to figure it out ;)

We’ll see next year October… Haha.
I think it is great that you made it work in alliance with your year of shmita. Tweaking it to our needs is the best to approach it.
Thank you for stopping by and reading along.

Thank you for being here and cheering me on.

Tobia, as always, thank you for sticking it out with my for so many years and for being such a cheerleader for NaBloPoMo and your dedication to reading and commenting.
We had another slight increase in participation this year and it makes me so happy that some more bloggers found our community and decided to join us again this year. I made a few new connections myself, which is always lovely.

Right now, we’re probably all looking forward to taking a break, but I hope there will be renewed excitement for the challenge again next year!

Oh my excitement is already here…. for next year. Now I need a break. Not so much from writing but reading so many blogs is hard. And I feel I start getting stories mixed up.

But I love this growing community and the vibe and the different views and experiences we bring to the table. I learn so much from peeking into the life of mothers, teachers, pet owners and single people. It just broadens my horizon and stretches y mind and I am more empathetic knowing these stories.

Thank you for infecting me with this and sticking with it.

Nice roundup of the month! I’m really sad it’s ending. I also didn’t get to read and comment on everything, and I feel bad about that. Like you, I have plans to go back and get caught up… hopefully.
I’m going to read your blog throughout the year instead of JUST during NaBloPoMo!!!

      Thank you so much Jenny.
I know I have dropped in every once in a while over the past year but I was not as thorough in reading it all. My hope is to come visit regular too.
However, no hard feelings if you don’t manage to keep up over the year. Latest in in November we are all back here and catching up.

I loved meeting new blog friends this year! An extra bonus for me was KarenMeg, who I know from blogging maybe 15 or so years ago, and we are Facebook friends, so to see her pop up here was GREAT.

As you said, I pre-loaded all of my blog posts. And STILL keeping up with the reading and commenting was HARD. One thing is that I really like reading prior comments on a blog post, so that means it takes quite a while to get through. I haven’t managed any of it well. I am so far behind. YOU however have been a QUEEN. I’ve seen your comments EVERYWHERE. Chef’s kiss to you, nicely done.

Thank you Julie. I was not able to read all prior comments. Some posts had gazillion comments (like all on Engies and Elisabeth) so I had to scroll past them. I really made an effort and I am happy people noticed.

How fun to reconnect with Karen. Even though being Facebook friends you haven’t known she had a blog?

I am so far behind in commenting. Oh, well. I did well until the holiday weekend here in the States and I was just too busy to sit down and read blogs. At some point, I’m going to have to give up on catching up, but I’m going to try my hardest.

I did add a few blogs to my blogroll over November and I’m excited about it. It was nice to see some new faces doing NaBloPoMo this year!

I always tell myself I catch up on all the blogposts after NaBloPoMo and never managed. I am trying to but is hard and I may have to clear it out at the end.
It’s the most fun finding new bloggers. It feels like in the olden days when you read comments and then jumped to a new blog just to fall down a rabbit hole and move on to another interesting blog.

You are the boos of ocmmenting for sure Tobia. My favourite post of yours was 20 Things I am Proud of. Favourite post of mine is probably Day 1 of the Camino. If I do it next year I need to pre-write more posts.
