All around in the CBC (Cool Bloggers Community) the posts about what is in my purse or bag are popping up. I have lost count who all had a post and who was first. However because of FOMO and lack of a better idea today I decided to share what I have in my work bag today.
I went to a meeting at the hospital today and used my official work bag. The one you see above. It is a 100% leather bag I bought 2021 and have used 23 times so far. That tells you about how often I have a very official meeting or I need the black bag. It already has some signs of usage at the corners and the handle. So I am really amazed reading how long Engies purse has been in rotation.
Alright but you are here for the bits and pieces that came out of the bag.
Laptop – obviously no work without laptop. Didn’t need a charger because it lasts all day and I knew I won’t be using the laptop every hour.
Kindle – usually carry it with me since the commute to the client is 2+ hours. Didn’t use it today though.
iPhone charger – I started carrying that one because our buses have USB plugs and I can charge my phone for free on the way. Today I didnt make use of it as it was really packed.
Notebook – this is the particular notebook for this client. I try to have a designated notebooks for each client. For one I can finde notes easier on the other hand I am not accidentally leave (confidential) notes of other clients at places they shouldn’t be.
To-go mug – back in 2020 (or maybe even 2019) I decided to not buy any paper/plastic cups anymore but have my own mug. If I don’t have it no to-go coffee. This one I received at a blogging in 2017… maybe 2018
Booklet & book – these are publications from my clients I need to create content for the 30 year celebration in 2025. It is the story of creating this hospital (which is very unique as the combine western and integrative medicine).
Tissues – it’s cold season and this is in my bag. I didn’t know I had two packs to be honest.
Sanitizer – that has become a staple with covid. Should I remove it? Probably not.
Wallet – I downsized my wallet a lot and have this small red one for probably five years now.
AirPods – rarely leaving the house without them. I listen to podcasts, audiobooks or sometimes music.
Tea bags – I didn’t know I had those in there but it doesn’t surprise me as I usually travel with tea bags. I guess these are remnants from the last trade show.
Mask – still carry around a new one I can use. Haven’t worn one in probably a year… besides where required in the hospital.
Lipstick – today was red as I am wearing the same color as pants. I usually have the matching color with me and a chapstick which was missing today.
Triptans & Ibuprofen – my acute medicine for migraines I have these scattered around in arm my purses and also in my wallet. Missing them can be fatal.
Keys – no need for explanations, right.
Bag of nuts – another item I didn’t quite knew I had in the bag but which doesn’t surprise me. It is an emergency snack in case a migraine creeps.
And here you have what I have in my work bag. However this is a snapshot of today. I unpack the entire bag after every usage and only medicine, sanitizer, tissues and mask go back. I will keep the nuts and teabags too for now. Everything else gets sorted away and when I need my purse or another bag I pack anew.
You turn: What odd thing is in your bag or purse? Do you carry snacks? Any medicine that always is in your bag? Do you unpack your back after every use?

Looking into a handbag says quite a lot about a person, huh?! This was fun, but now I’m craving nuts. 😅
How are you feeling about NaBloPoMo? Ready for it to be over? I’ll kind if miss it but also get back to my pile of TBR books which is a good thing.
I am having a hard time catching up on all the posts right now – as you can see by my not stopping by for a week. While I love the community and connection it is just not something I can keep up with. And I am having work pile high left and right so it’s a bit tough.
It is a bittersweet thing to let NaBloPoMo go. Like every year. But I’ll be back in 2025 for sure. Will you?
And I am sorry ou are craving nuts now. Hope you found some.
I just got a new handbag; my old one was getting a bit ratty before I went away and was awful by the time I got back. The outer layer peeling off all over. I have used it a couple of times, but you just reminded me that I need to put my migraine medication in there. I haven’t been getting as many lately, but as you say, I don’t want to be caught without it. I only use one small cross-body bag. My credit card, MYKI (public transport card), tissues, bandaids (my medication now you’ve reminded me), pen and lip balm live permanently in there. When I go out, I add my phone, and possibly reading glasses, notebook and small water bottle if I need them.
I can remember that two or three times I didn’t have my medicine and it was no fun. So I always try to have them anywhere and everywhere so I will be well covered. I usually have a pen in my work bag but for some reason, it’s not in there so I probably should put one in permanently again.
I wonder: do you keep your credit card in the bag and not in your wallet or do you not own the wallet?
The new bag has a separate wallet-type compartment on one side with card slots. I also have one of those wallets that go on the back of my phone if I don’t take a bag.
I have just ordered something like that for the phone for the husband.
Isn’t it funny that we all are caring a very small back if we can.
I always have Cold and Sinus Advil in my purse, just in case a sinus headache sneaks up on me. I have to take them with food, or else I will throw up (sorry, TMI), but I don’t carry food in my purse. I just hope for the best. I don’t need them often, but when I do, I really do.
I love that you have a to-go cup in your work bag so you can get coffee if you need/want it, without using paper cups. That’s great. I work from home, and I don’t meet with clients or coworkers in person, so I don’t have a work bag.
That trusty cups goes everywhere with me. I almost lost it last week and I was nervous.
Fingers crossed that you always find food when you need to take your medicine. I sometimes have massive drops of probably insulin and then I need something to eat within seconds.
I don’t regularly carry a purse – I just use a fanny pack. But I love the aesthetic of your purse SO MUCH. It’s lovely and looks like such great quality.
In terms of what I have in my fanny pack – lip balm, my wallet, keys, and any recent relevant receipts. Sometimes a hair elastic! I do keep pain relievers in my vehicle, though.
I have a bag I take to church each week and that has pens, lip balm, mints (in case a cough comes on!), Kleenex, and my notebook for taking sermon notes. I only use it on Sunday’s, though, so everything stays stationary.
I have that same Kindle cover! I don’t carry a purse right now; I only have a fanny pack, and it is just the basics, but has earphones, my phone, chapstick and my wallet. I don’t go anywhere without chapstick! When I used to commute to work, I would carry my lunch, my Kindle and lots of little “what ifs” like hand sanitizer and Advil and bandaids.
My everyday purse is also just the size of my kindle and doesn’t hold much besides wallet, keys, phone and kindle.
But when I need to take my laptop the bigger back it is.
How fun you have the exact same kindle cover. It was my husbands Christmas present of last year.
I have varying sizes of bags for different occasions. My workbag hasn’t been used since 2016 (I had to retire, another story). But I do have an over the shoulder brown leather bag that is my daily bag and … big enough to fit everything in, including during wither, a hat, scarf and gloves. And yes, I always have a granola bar in my bag, hand sanitiser, tissues, a Swiss army knife (always), plasters, pills … and probably so much more.
No wonder it weighs so heavy!
I cary my Swiss army know when ever I have my big camera. I don’t know why but that is an essential I take when I go on some exploring. I love it. It was a gift from my dad for my 14th birthday.
What a fun post! And I love that you discovered earl grey(s) in your bag. ☕️ I need to look through my purse and determine if it is shareable at the moment. I’ve really pared things down over the years. When I have a backpack I may take more things along “just in case” like my 35mm camera and a sketchbook. Also, especially since we have a holiday week in the states, it is definitely hard to keep up with posting and I have been poor at stopping by blogs and saying hello. NaBloPoMo has been such a treat, what a nice group!
I am struggling to keep up myself as you see on the missing comments on your blog. I hope this Saturday I can catch up and then finish up strong. But it’s busy even without a holiday. Hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving.
And I would love to see your purse. No cheating just dump it out.
I don’t have a work bag and my personal purse is pretty minimalist – just my wallet, a Tide 2 Go pen, a zippered pouch with Advil, my keys, my phone, and sunglasses. I think I may have a hair elastic and maybe a pen, too.
I should have food in my purse because I can have a low blood sugar episode quickly and if I don’t get food ASAP, I start feeling faint.
Oh this my work aka laptop bag.
my regular purse looks totally different. Very small the size of a kindle. There is not much in there besides key and wallet and my kindle and migraine medicine.
I love your bag! It’s beautiful but yeah I can see how you’d only carry it for official meetings.
I love that you take your to-go coffee cup with you wherever you go. Very responsible (I should start doing that… but I also often take my own coffee from home). Is it spill-proof?
I always carry some dextrose (Dextroenergen, which I stock up on in Germany!) in my purse and I also usually have a small container with Tylenol and HCL pills with me).
It is a big bag and I wouldn’t want to carry it daily.
Yes, my cup is spill proof and has a little latch that you can open. It is the best. I almost lost it last week and I was so nervous.
I used to have Dextroenergen in my purse many years ago but it is not good for my migraines to get these blood sugar spikes so I am not using them anymore. And I may have eaten them like candy.
