As you may remember I had a plan to watch as many Christmas movies I can fit into the days leading up to the holidays. I made the best of it. If I choose the best movies though… not sure. One gem though. One you need to watch because it is so good. Unfortunately my favorite movie of all times is no longer available in English and only with German synchro and I can.not.watch.this. So I had to forgo watching it. I am sad. Anyways here are all the Christmas movies I watched this year.

  • December 1:
Christmas on Ice ✩✩✩ – I enjoyed this one. I am usually annoyed by the kids in these movies but here it was authentic. It has ice skating in it. And it also had some deeper topics like grief done in a good way.
Planes, Trains and Christmas Trees ✩✩– this was rather cheesy and very predictable. Too many flaws too. Not the best.
  • December 6th
Cross Country Christmas ✩✩✩ – better than expected and cute. Almost sad I don’t watch it with the husband.
The Christmas Cabin ✩✩ – the story was nice and different but the acting was horrible. I would have loved to hear more of the previous generations.
  • December 7th
Holiday Hotline ✩✩ – this was bearable but the acting was hard to watch. I liked the story itself as it was a bit different. Husband liked it more.
Unlocking Christmas ✩✩✩ was ok but a little over the top cheery and forced. The main characters didn’t have any chemistry in my opinion. I would have hoped for more puzzles.
  • December 8th
Santa Clause the series Season 1, Episode 1 – surprisingly entertaining
  • December 13
Santa Clause the series Season 1, Episode 2 – this was disappointing. Too much kids movie, bad CGI
  • December 14
Santa Clause the series Season 1, Episode 3 – starts to get interesting again
  • December 15
Red One ✩✩✩✩✩ – this may be my new favorite Christmas movie. No romance, no kissing just , action packed and at times hilarious. Go watch it!
  • December 19
Genie ✩✩ – this was mainly just meh. I am not sure if I would categorize it as Christmas movie it just happens to be around Christmas. It wanted to be funny but wasn’t really.
  • December 20
Coupled up for Christmas ✩ – ok this was horrible. Bad acting, Main character just plain stupid and making ridiculous decisions. Husband and I decided to start pointing out all the stupid things in these movies to make ourself enjoy them more. We stopped a gazillion times to analyze and laugh.
  • December 22
Your Christmas or mine ✩✩✩✩ – I really enjoyed this one. It is a British movie and while I shy away from them this was fun, different and yet checked all the marks for a Christmas rom com. And best there is a sequel which I may watch tomorrow.
  • December 23
Christmas is canceled ✩ – this one really annoyed me. Terrible female character making stupid decisions, acting childish. Also very stupid storyline. Two main characters had no spark at all.

How many movies did you watch? What was your favorite this season? What’s the worst one you watched? Have you watched Red One?

We watched 2 Christmas Movies, the same ones we watch every year. It’s a Wonderful Life, and Scrooged. I thought about watching some of these type movies, but couldn’t make myself do it. I keep hearing good things about Red One, maybe I will give that a try.

These movies are mostly cheesy and are pure entertainment so I get it if you don’t want to waste your time.
I loved red one. It’s different and there is. O kissing at all.
