We are meeting in the morning of a crisp October day. The dew I still clinging to the grass and trees and window panes. I’ve overslept so we had to push the date a bit back but you have been flexible and wanted to meet. Specially since I canceled last month’s coffee date already. I am so happy you made time to be with me. We meet outside under the first falling leaves. And I am a lucky friend because you bring a hot pumpkin spice latte.
While we chat we walk along the river into the woods and the foliage.
If you and I had coffee…
…I share that life feels so busy these days and at the same time I feel like I am not doing enough. I could work more – at least on paper it seems like there are multiple hours a week that should be filled with work. I should find new clients. But I am tired. I have so many boring task. Task that don’t go the way I want. That take more knowledge that I have. And I am currently in a phase where I want to absorb new knowledge and not generate an output. It’s a bit trying. And at the same time I don’t have any reason to complain because my husband is working his butt off to keep the company afloat and get thrown one stick after another and he really reverse a long break and a whole long string of luck. So I feel double guilty if I am lazy. Sighs. I hope you feel more productive and I want to hear.
If you and I had coffee…
…I tell you about my obsessively folding a million more Fröbel stars for my advent booth I am going to have. I have officially signed up. The church waved the admission fee if you donate a cake (easy) and I will also donate a part of my earnings in order to raise some money for our planned constructions. I am now looking into how to display my stars. And I am also trying to figure out how much other things (cards, jewelry etc) I can set up without overwhelming the customers. And then I am hoping anyone shows up. And anyone wants to buy something anywhere and also at my table. I think I need to work through this more detailed. I may need your input at a later date.
If you and I had coffee…
…I admit that I want to go on a shopping spree. Get new cozy outfits. I need some new jeans because all of them are ripped. I also want shiny new things. I did buy myself new winter house shoes because my feet get so cold. Also two new sweaters. But I also have to admit that since the arctic I gained so much weight and I am so sad and mad at myself. So it feels like a waste to buy new shiny things now. But then if I don’t feel good in my clothes it is also bad. It is a dilemma and it seems like I never get out of that vicious cycle. On another note I can be proud to have made week four of my fit challenge that my health provider is running. If I make 10 out of 12 weeks I get a reward. Also I have been going to Zumba and I love it. So maybe I shouldn’t be too hard on myself?
If you and I had coffee…
…I happily tell you that we finally got our car back from the shop. It’s been there almost three weeks. It was a bit annoying. Since it upended my plans with Melissa a bit and my husband had to drive the rental daily. Luckily he only got a parking ticket once in the past weeks. Otherwise this would have been so expensive. But I just saw he put in another inspection next week… so maybe it is not over yet? And all the hassle only because other people are dumb enough to bump our car in parking spots or run into us (with a bike!) on a red light. Sigh.
If you and I had coffee…
…I asked you about some nice host story. I try to red one creepy book in October. I tried Rebecca last year but I think I not retry this year. I read Frankenstein, Dracula, the Ghost of Canterville. Is there a book that fits here. I have a ghost romance on my Kindle called “Ghost Walk” but I fear it’s a period romance thing and I am not too much into that. So any fun ghost stories are welcome. And for next month I am looking for some fairy tale retellings. Any ideas?
We are slowly heading back to where your car is parked. A few steps in silent listening to the susurration of the leaves telling their own stories. A tiny sun ray peaks through and fight hard against the fast moving clouds. our brains are refreshed from the oxygen and the talk and we are ready to tackle a few items on our every growing to-do-list. We hug until next time where we’ll meet in a big group because it will be NabloPoMo. How exciting.
What would you like to tell me? Do you also bring yourself a pumpkin spice latte? Any good ghost stories? Anyone ever ran into your car while you were NOT moving? Are you planning on joining NaBLoPoMo? Have set up a craft table at a basar?
