Sharing some of my black-out poetry on wordless Wednesday for you to enjoy.

My chance for bravery and boldness. Words, heart-wrenching and heartfelt. A book. A writer.

I like the design! I actually did not think of this last time, as I am a words person, so I read the words and liked them, but now I see this is a twofold thing, and the design of the pattern is also very creative! My Mom would love this; in fact, I am going to show her! She is very artistic and sometimes I am amazed at what comes out of her brain (and yours!!)

Oh this means a lot. For this project, I really tried to match the artwork with the words. Not always great but always tried. Greetings to your mom I hope she likes it and I would love to hear more about her creativity if you feel like sharing.

Very Japanese zen, both in image and in words.

You are right! Now that you said that I can’t unsee. I don’t think I had Japan on my mind when I made this though.

Do you ever feel weird about writing in a book? I used to write marginalia in my grad school books, but I always felt slightly bad about it as if I were somehow abusing the poor things. I don’t write in books anymore. The art is BEAUTIFUL, but I am just curious about your emotions behind it. It does seem like you use the same book, so it’s not like you’re doing this with dozens and dozens of books!

It is a bit of a weird feeling I admit that. I usually don’t write in books or underline or anything. I did back in school but not anymore. And yes, I do us the same book. One I found in the free library. I talked about all of that in my previous post on how I do the blackout poetry.

Another beautiful work of word art, Tobia! I love how the words and art combine to create this soul-stirring piece.

I haven’t been able to reply to your many kind comments on my blog posts because Blogger sends them to me as no-reply (grrrrr). Happy to have found your blog, IG feed, and Pinterest page. Lovely ideas to explore. This one in particular resonates with me as I’ve been thinking about doing this with one of my thrifted books.

Welcome to my block happy you found it. I can only recommend you do it. It’s a lot of fun and even some way of journaling I guess.
