It is time to have a little seasonal bucket list. Do you agree? It has been a long time I have made seasonal fun list. I used to do it a lot but now with monthly goals lists and my huge bucket list over three years it feels a bit forced. So, I think this will be more about creating moods and feelings kinda list. Having adventures in fall and not just things to cross of the list. You know what I mean.
- ✔️ Enjoying a bubble bath. What better way to end a weekend than to sit in a bath and enjoying a book, a nice scent and unwinding.
- ✔️ Getting cozy with a book. The best during fall. Specially when it’s raining. And if there is a fire somewhere.
- Spending time relaxing in a sauna. I used to do spa days with myself and I miss it. It is so expensive these days though. But I can also go to the country home and use the sauna – I won’t have a pool or different options but it is still relaxing.
- ✔️ Making apple sauce. During my long walks I saw that some neighbors give away apples for free and I took two to taste. If I can grab some more this would be fun.
- ✔️ Eating soup. I love soup. And I am looking forward to making some. Pumpkin for sure but I have so many more recipes to choose from or try.
- Spending time creating. I could start my Christmas cards. Or color some more pages in my coloring book. Or maybe get back to making quote postcards. So many options.
- Reading a creepy story. In October I like to pick up mysteries, thrillers or some gothic novels. I am contemplating Rebecca this year. But like to get suggestions.
- ✔️ Admiring the foliage. It’s going to be colorful. Living near the woods I can see the changes even more prominent. Center stage.
- Enjoy the blogging community. NaBloPoMo falls into fall and I am here for another round of fun. I have a feeling I’ll be doing something different this year but am not sure yet.
- ✔️ Lightening up. Burn the candles. I am pretty good lighting a candle when I work but I want to have some burning in the evening too. Maybe add in some candle light yoga.
Do you have adventures planned for fall? Do you have a special mood you try to create in fall? Do you specifically read certain book in fall? Have you canned anything lately?

This is such a good list, Tobia! It’s making me feel excited for fall, which is nice because I’ve basically been a big fall grinch lately.
Glad I could boost your mood.
It’s been so cold here during the nights that socks and hot water bottles is what I am craving.
I loved reading your list. There is something so “grounding” to me about the fall. I love the rituals and the coziness of it all. I’m trying to really lean into it this year (as I write this, I’m sipping a Pumpkin Spice coffee!!!)
I put up a few little fall decor items earlier today and it feels fun to embrace the changing seasons.
I wish we had saunas handy. It sounds like such a great way to reset. The only one that does NOT appeal to me a bubble bath. I am not a fan of baths, but will admit that a fall bubble bath does sound very cozy and relaxing.
I love that you are all in this year. However I thought you always are since it is a favorite season of yours if I am not mistaken.
I haven’t had a pumpkin spice latte yet. Maybe tomorrow when I meet at a coffee shop.
I wasn’t too fond of bubble bath until Covid hit and I declared it my me time.
I love autumn, the slowing down of it. Except for the holidays, which are not slow at all.
I forgot to tell you, I got your post card a couple of weeks ago! So fun, thank you!
Oh man the cards take forever to arrive. I probably should send out Christmas cards if I want them to arrive anytime near the holidays. I am just not in the mood…
The holidays used to be a time of slowness and reflection but somehow they morphed into a hustle.
But let’s first enjoy fall.
We don’t usually do anything special for autumn here. Even though we have lots of imported deciduous trees from the northern hemisphere, we don’t have all the associated traditions. I do love our Autumn though, the weather is the best of the year. I canned some green tomato relish earlier this year, and I have a heap of chillies in my freezer that I plan to make into sweet chilli sauce. Hopefully this will happen next week.
I wouldn’t associate fall with Australia to be honest. I don’t decorate anything for fall. The forest outside my home is doing that.
I’ve never used green tomatoes but have heard of it. I was contemplating if I want to grow chilis but also wasn’t sure what to do with it since I don’t eat very spicy food. But sweet chilli sauce might be an option. Hope you get to do this.
I just looked at the calendar and realized every weekend is booked in October and most of November. I think my goal for fall is to survive. I’d like to get out of “just survive” mode at some point, but I don’t think it’s going to be any time soon in 2025. Maybe 2026 will be the year for that.
But my mini-goals are to take the dog to the park and just sit at a bench for at least ten minutes with her to enjoy the fall weather and to go on a leaf peeping hike with my husband. Will I accomplish those mini-goals? Only time will tell.
I love your list! Fall is my favorite season of the year, I’ve been enjoying every day of it so far. The nights are chilly enough that I want to snuggle with a blanket. The days still get pleasantly warm, but not too hot. It’s the best!
Your list is great. Simple pleasures and several of them things that I love and would love to do as well. Autumn is my very favorite season. I’ve been working on applesauce for the last week. We took my one-year-old grandson to the apple orchard last weekend and picked a bunch of apples. It’s not quite cool enough yet for soup. We like it when there is a distinct chill in the air and it’s time to turn on the heat in the house. So a couple of weeks yet probably. I have a few family favorites I always make, but I too would like to try a few new ones. Expand our horizons a bit. I hope you do everything on your list.
I can proudly say the apple sauce one is done and checked. If I am perfectly honest I wrote the list a few days ahead of time and just when I finished my mom called said she’ll bring over tons of apples. The was in the kitchen two nights already and was done canning. So that is crossed off.
It is not as cold as turning on heat yet heather but nights have been in 1 digits so it is not so long anymore. Leaves a just starting to change. I love soup. I think I need to try that recipe of yours you mentioned during the soup challenge that I still haven’t made. But I think I start with a carrot soup. I bought 2kg yesterday on a whim.
I love this! Here in Florida we don’t get a Fall, but I can pretend. I’m all for cozy reading and candles! I’m also looking forward to NaBloPoMo. I’m curious to know what you’re going to do differently this time!
I am too. I am not sure what to change but I feel like I need to adapt a bit. I am very overwhelmed this time around but I am looking forward all year to this months so I am not going to cancel it. But I also won’t be able to be as dedicated right now. I guess I better figure it out.
Yes, pretend and light all the candles. Pots of earl grey too (hope you can have them again).
