So April has come and gone and I have never officially mentioned that I joined the CBWC Elisabeth has introduced a year ago. This was the third event. I missed the April 2024 event and loved the October walking club and immediately committed to be part in the April 2025 happening. Well, I had high motivations but then I got sick March 30th and was down for a week. However, I wanted to share about the walks I did – if I can recount them that is.
April 1 – not feeling well and napping a lot | 3,358 steps
April 2 – in bed with a fever | 2,821 steps
April 3 – in bed with a fever I guess the steps were made getting drinks and getting rid of them | 4,561 steps
April 4 – in bed with a fever | 2,710 steps
April 5 – mainly on the couch | 2,077 steps
April 6 – in bed and doing taxes | 2,560 steps

April 8 – no conscious walk because I used my bike | 2,828 steps & 2 x 4.6 km bike ride
April 9 – 0,8 km quick lunch walk before the next meeting only 8 min but I am counting it, bike ride to the local farmers market | 3,377 steps + 2 x 2.3 km biking
April 10 – biking to lunch (scored a Too-Good-To-Go bag) and the florist for some easter decorations, 10 min lunch walk while pushing my bike | 3,875 steps + 2 x 2.6 km bike ride
April 11 – I think I forgot to leave the house over all the work | 2,617 steps
April 12 – 5,2 km loop through the woods (part of my arctic training) ending at the grocery store, later cleaning the terrace with a lot of more steps | 16,742 steps
April 13 – mainly walking to the car and around my friends garden where we celebrated her birthday | 4,759 steps

April 15 – 2,5 km afternoon walk doing the small loop through the woods | 6,920 steps
April 16 – 2 km walk to the grocery store and an evening bike ride to the local farmers market | 6,140 steps + 2 x 2 km bike ride
April 17 – no conscious walk but I cleaned the terrace and the apartment all afternoon | 8,252 steps
April 18 – 2 km hasted walk to church for Good Friday service and a 2.4 km leisurely walk back | 8,170 steps
April 19 – 5,4 km walk around the moor as part of my arctic training ending at the grocery store to pick up breakfast | 11,295 steps
April 20 – biking to church and walking half way back plus spending time on the terrace walking around | 5,454 steps + bike ride
April 21 – 4,5 km walk in the woods with my husband, my sister and her boyfriend after our Easter brunch | 11,607 steps
April 22 – 3,7 km walking along the Havel River after my meetings at the hospital and another kilometer walking home from the bus stop, and lots of steps on hospital grounds | 15,003 steps
April 23 – 3 km walk home after getting off five bus stops earlier after a busy day at the hospital with a lot of steps already, making a detour to pick up my ordered bread and some veggies at the farmers market | 11,757 steps
April 24 – 4 km evening walk as part of my arctic training through the woods | 7,865 steps

April 25 – approx. 15 min evening walk with the husband, short but sweet with sunshine and a chat after the entire day at the desk | 4,711 steps
April 26 – a long leisurely stroll through IKEA with the husband, no outdoor steps though | 8,694 steps
April 27 – consciously decided to not move today. Ha! | 1,228 steps
April 28 – 30 min lunchtime walk to the ferry station where I spotted the recently hatched geese ducklings | 5,321 steps

April 29 – 30 min lunch time walk through the forest | 6,182 steps
April 30 – only steps inside the home but I had to get some groceries and took the bike | 4,726 steps + 2 x 2.47 km bike ride
And this is all the walking I did for the Cool Bloggers Walking Club April. A total of 201,736 steps and 140.1 km. Yeah.
Did you have a day you consciously decided to not walk? How did the walking month go for you? What kind of animals have you seen while working? Did you walk the same path or did you venture from your normal ways?

I think there were two days when I did not go walk. I still got out and ran errands and so on, but didn’t go for an official walk. You walk a lot, especially those 15k and 11k steps days! The only days I manage that are when I am on vacation.
Running around on hospital grounds can quickly add up to more steps than usual. Also using public transport on those days.
If I am just in my home office and don’t consciously try to get in steps I can easily stay around 1,200 steps or so.
Well done! I thought I would join when I read about the idea last year, but I guess I missed it. April went by in a blur unfortunately.
That is how I felt last year in April. It was just a blur. Well, good thing there is October where Elisabeth most likely will host the next walking club.
Good job walking, Tobia! Especially after being sick. It can be difficult to get your motivation back, but you did it!
I enjoyed my walks too. I usually walk on the same dirt road every day. I walked in our barn a couple of days because of bad weather. And I even walked up and down our hallway one day because of so much snow outside!
Oh wow you still got snow. Crazy.
How big is your barn that you can use it as a gym. But I guess you can make some steps there.
I have been walking on the terrace a bit too when I was sick but I didn’t really track it.
Very happy that I have not lost my motivation to walk and work out after being sick.
Yay for walking in Germany! It is so special to me that people are joining in from other countries in the world and…you fit in a lot of steps! Gold stars, Tobia <3
Thank you Elisabeth for hosting. It’s such a fun thing to do together knowing we all walk together even when we are miles away.
