So it’s May 1st a holiday in Germany and I am sitting outside sipping my coffee and taking the time for a check-in. Here is how elevating happiness in April looked like.

How I incorporated my word ELEVATE in APRIL

I elevated my soul by
  • admiring my blooming rosemary. And my sorel that is looking so fresh and yummy.
  • visiting the farmers market three weeks, getting fresh produce and supporting the neighborhood. It makes me happy.
  • watching the swans breed, the geese ducklings swimming and the blue sky.
  • laughing.
  • meditating and breathing exercise 5 times.
  • going to church.
I elevated my creativity by
  • making Easter cards.
  • setting up a Pinterest board for the White Summer Party.
I elevated my hobbies by
  • reading a lot.
  • blogging a bit more.
  • doing a 1000 piece puzzle over Easter break.
I elevated my physical appearance and fitness by
  • doing yoga 9 times.
  • lifting weights 2 times and functional weight training 6 times.
  • closing my Apple rings 4 times.
  • walking over 10.000 steps/day on 5 days, total of 140,2km and an average of 6,726 daily steps (96.1% of goal).
  • going for two 5+ km walks.
  • rode my bike for 21.6 km.
  • gaining some muscle and loosing some fat.
I elevated my health by
  • taking a week off from work and being sick.
  • asking for an appointment at the optometrist.
I elevated my relationships by
  • going to my high school friends for her birthday brunch.
  • seeing another friend for brunch on her birthday.
  • sending Easter cards to lovely blog people and some birthday cards.
  • sending out an invite for our White Summer Party. Eighteen people have RSVPed and coming.
  • leaving 189 blog comments.
  • going for a few walks with the husband.
I elevated my home by
  • cleaning the terrace tiles, furniture, carpets and my little fountain.
  • washing the winter bedding.
  • getting new glass ware. But we’ll return them. Questionable quality.
  • listing 28 things at Ebay.
  • spending a leisurely afternoon at IKEA with the husband looking at inspirations and talking through a few things.
  • getting flowers twice.
I elevated my style by
  • trying to serve food in a nicer way than usual.
  • drinking champagne for Easter brunch – a bottle I received for my 40th birthday two years ago.
  • wearing a very colorful outfit on Easter.
  • giving myself a colorful Easter manicure.

I looked at your Pinterest board, and wow, everything is so beautiful! All of the white food looks elegant and delicious. You certainly did elevate your April! I love how you elevate yourself and others.

Thank you so much Michelle. I am not sure how much effort I am going to put into the buffet but gathering some general idea is always helpful. I’ll be testing the white bean salad for the upcoming reunion and see how it is liked.

I am trying to elevate my life and others – not sure I am always doing a great job but trying is better than not doing a thing.

Thank you for cheering me on.

I always love these posts, you’re inspiring. Is May good weather there? It’s usually pretty here, not too hot, not cold.

May is usually a pretty nice month. Warm but not hot. Colder nights. And lots and lots of holiday which makes it tough business owners but everyone else is taking lots of vacation. This weekend is a long weekend since the 1st is a holiday. The 8th is special holiday to honor the 80. day to end the war. And the 29th is also a holiday.

These are such wonderful posts and I love how far you manage to take this idea of “elevation”.

It’s amazing how being intentional about adding something into our lives can make such a difference in how we act/feel.

I feel like I’ve been elevating my hobby of blogging lately! Though I need to sit and ponder the whole topic of “elevation” a bit more since I haven’t been purposefully considering it when I’ve made decisions. I know I walked a LOT of stairs in Paris in March, so that was one form of literal elevation :)

Yes, totally. Being intentional about this word is such a great addition to how I live my life. Each year a slightly different focus.
How wonderful that you have been able to elevate your blogging. It’s such a fun hobby that we get to share and yet everyone can do their own thing.
Laughed at your literal elevation in March. So good.

So much goodness here! I am not sure how I will elevate my May – I do have a lot of fun plans with friends, so that will definitely elevate my spirits. :)

That sounds wonderful, Stephany. Plans with friends have been a bit rare in the past months – specifically my best friend whom I haven’t seen since December and I miss her.

Thank you. And also for letting me know. For some reason comments are closed for some posts on default even though I don’t change anything. Very annoying.
Hope you found some fun new read.
