Remember when I was a Christmas Elf? I had decided to do a bit of volunteer work and my sister joined me for the past two years. While we were helping out in the Christmas workshop the first year we already decided to do it an annual tradition. So late September we agreed on a date that was working for both of us and we signed up for another shift at the workshop. This year I have a bit more time to get my gift for someone I don’t know. Luckily I kept some notes the past years and they did help in deciding what to shop this year.

I decided to pack a shoebox for a girl 5-9 years. It is actually the most packed for but I just found so cute things. I also have half a box packed for a boy the same age. I hope I get it done before helping out I the workshop.

My items this year were:

  • Playmobile figures – Prince and Princess
  • ear muffs and a matching scarf
  • fluffy socks
  • Tooth brush and tooth paste
  • bar of soup
  • hot chocolate powder
  • gummy bears
  • chocolate snow man
  • candy necklace

If you also want to pack a box you’ll find helpful info here. Next year I think I need to focus on the older kids from 10-15 years. I have a few ideas and will keep looking for the items throughout the year.

We were supposed to be in the workshop today. Unfortunately we had to post-pone it to early December as a few work things couldn’t be re-scheduled.

Have you ever packed a box? What did you put in or would put in if you had to fill one?

Happy volunteering

Tobia

I love so much that you’re putting together a package for a stranger. This is the spirit of Christmas.

You could pack a box if you like and I can take it when I go to the workshop in two weeks. When you work there you can bring in boxes later. But next year is always an option too.
