Another tenth of a month and I have driven deep into my blog archive to find a story that is still fun to read this day. Let’s travel back to 2018. Little did I know when typing this post that it started one of my most beloved traditions ever. My sisterly tradition of volunteering in the Christmas factory. The blog treasure and first post of many to come reveals that I never planned on doing the Christmas factory but just wanted to pack one shoebox.

I think I told my sister about it and mentioned that there is a factory to pack it all. And I assume she mentioned she would be game to do it. I remember she also said she wanted to do some volunteering work but can not commit to something long-term but this might be a fun way to dedicate some time.

And here we are in year eight in planning our day in the Christmas factory. They open up slots for the factory early in October. In recent years they have filled up so quickly that we actually left with no option to volunteer in 2023. Fingers crossed we quickly find a date we can both make work and book it.

If you have been around long enough you know how much joy that brings me.
Jump back to the origins with me and read how it all started.

Giving Back with Christmas in a Shoebox

Have you ever packed a shoebox? What would be a nice toy you’d love to find as a child? Do you do any volunteer work? Is there a tradition you have with your siblings?
