This month I tried to set up a routine again – as much as it is possible with a two week vacation. I failed in my weeks of normalcy but did a lot of golfing during the vacation. My body is a bit more flexible and attuned to movement. However I skipped a lot of strength training again. But let’s have a look at my June fitness journey.
Monday, June 1st
22 min – strength training program part 1 – I choose too heavy of weights and it resulted in a two day migraine afterwards. Sigh.
10 min – cool down – liked it
Tuesday, June 2nd
Rest Day
Wednesday, June 3d
30 min – Yoga – was a bit harder than anticipated but good
June 4th-June 6th
Rest Days
Sunday, June 7th
5 min – meditation – does this count as exercise? I declare yes – mind exercise.
Monday, June 8th
10 min – Upper body Strength for Golfers – done it before, good
10 min – Yoga routine – nothing special just glad I am doing something
5 min – meditation – like it
Tuesday June 9th
3 min – jump ropes – no time for long workout so I figured this is good for heart rate training
20 min / 5km – bike ride to meeting – heart rate in zone 3
20 min / 5km – bike ride home – watch died so no heart rate tracking
Wednesday, June 10
25 min – conscious slow walk with a friend
Thursday, June 11th
25 min – conscious walk home from meeting
June 12th & June 13th

190 min – golfing – pitching, chipping, putting & driving + short course with 6 holes
Sunday, June 21st
180 min – golfing – pitching, chipping, putting & driving + short course with 6 holes twice – very tired and exhausted after wards (went on my own as the husband took a rest day)

Saturday, June 27th
60 min – golfing – putting + short course with 6 holes – had to stop because it was getting to hot even in the morning hours
14 min – river swimming – had to stop because a thunderstorm was on the horizon and I didnt want to be caught in open waters.
Sunday, June 28th
Rest Day
Monday, June 29th
10 min – meditation for wisdom
56 min – golfing – putting and chipping only
Tuesday, June 30th
5 min – meditation for creativity
20 min – biking – I tried this exercise on an outdoor bike. It was manageable but I need to find better trails to do speed bursts, unfortunately it doesn’t track the km
12 min – easy biking home
Observations I made
- I can do intervals walking and biking trainings even though they are for stationary indoor equipment.
- I miss silent yin yoga.
- I don’t really enjoy yoga through apple fitness – weird music choices, even the slow flows are too rushed for me.
- I was active but have a hard time sticking to a plan these days.
A few other Stats
- doing yoga six times, 125 minutes averaging to 21 minutes.
- walking over 10.000 steps/day on 9 days, total of 148.5 km and an average of 6.633 daily steps (94.8% of goal). This was not a very good month. Sigh.
- doing one set of jump roping – I had planned for more.
- closing my apple rings five times.
- riding my bike a total of 14.57 km. Actually more but the bike training wasn’t tracked in km as it set to indoor biking.
- I played a total of 1462 minutes (24 hours and 22 minutes) of golf on 12 days averaging 122 minutes each. Win.
I am ok with my exercise level in June. I would have like to do more golfing during my vacation but the husband had an injury and its not so fun to do alone – even though I did it for about 1 third of the times. It was also so so hot that there was no exercise possible.
Did you try something new in your exercise routine lately? Any milestones you want to share? Any upcoming goals? What are you struggling with? Any motivation to share? Any golfers among you?
