When I write my resolutions of the year and announce my word of the year I always try to think of ways to keep my word visible for me. A constant reminder. In previous years I have created a different sweaters or a book mark. A word of the year bracelet has for some reason never been a part. High time to make one. Also it’s a been a while I shared some crafty stuff in this space, right?

Word bracelets have been around for a long time. I think during Covid they had a little revival. I have seen them and were never drawn to them for some reason. Maybe because I rarely wear bracelets? But for my word CURIOUS I felt like this is what this word needs. So I looked through options. White beads with black print or would I prefer gold or silver? Colorful beads with white or black print? Mhm or go with black beads and white print and be flexible in the colors I combine with them? Options. So many options…

I considered my wardrobe. I have a lot of black, white and gray but then also lots of blues and pink shades. I decided having a neutral color will probably be a good way to move forward. I ordered a pack with 1400 beads that also included a little heart and some elastic.

One afternoon when I took a day off after working a whole weekend at the trade fair I sat down at 3pm to make CURIOUS bracelet. I don’t think you need any explanation how to.

It was a lot of fun. Those bracelets work better if they have a neutral plain beaded one to go with. And since it’s always better to have an odd numbers for these kind of things I quickly ended up having three.

For some reason it looks like this year will feature the color pink. And I added in a bit of clear sparking beads. For previous years – especially elevate and shape – I felt a light icy blue color was the right choice. Like the ice of the Arctic. And so I moved my way back through all my important words of the year adding them to my stash of word of the year bracelets. Celebrate was a confetti inspired color version.

I really love how they turned out. I have ended up making a bracelet for my words: CURIOUS, ELEVATE, CELEBRATE, MAGIC, GRACE, SHAPE and MOXY.

When the husband came home that night he asked me to make one for him as well – all black. And he wears it daily. This is so sweet. I need to make him another one to add and shorten the one I made. And a client of mine has also asked me to make her one.

You can win your bracelet!

And since I am at it I figured: why not host it a little give-away on the blog. This is something I can easily send through mail and without exobitant shipping costs. I am so so excited. Will you want a bracelet made by yours truly?

All you have to do is leave a comment (until end of January/early February) with your word and any one color you would prefer.

Do you like these kind of bracelets? Do you understand my color choice? Do you feel 2026 is a certain color? What is your word of the year?

Hi Tobia! My word of the year is “Patience” and I feel like the ice blue color is appropriate since it is calming and I need to focus on chilling out to maintain my patience in 2026! I hope you can send to the US if I am chosen!

Patience is a great word and I hope you can find some. Blue matches perfectly.
I’ll definitely be able to send to the US

I am happy you love them.
Maybe a shorter version like Show up would work. What color would you prefer if you win?

I wear bracelets EVERY DAY. I love bracelets. My word of the year is compassion and purple is my favorite color! If compassion is too long “Be Kind” has the same vibe. I LOVE that you do this. It’s so much fun! You are my creative inspiration.

Oh I love that you are a bracelet lady. I did not know. We’ll see if compassion would work. I should have some purple beads in my stash.

I love that you made bracelets for multiple years! I assumed at first you were just going to make one for 2026. Great idea!

I was at first. But then I realized it would be much more fun to combine my words. And much more inspiring.

These are beautiful! My word of the year is “delight” and the year itself has a blue color, like, light blue. 2025 had a red tint and my word of the year was “focus” so it was more action-oriented while 2026 will be more grounding and reflective.
Oh, for some reason, your latest post about glucose does not have an option to comment.

I love that you have colors going with your words.
I kind of have focus as my business word this year but it is not red I associate with it. Interesting.

Delight is a wonderful word. I can see how it silently enhances the small joys of everyday life.

Thanks for the info about the comment. I fixed it.

I am a fan of word bracelets (as you might know – I have some from different companies, often motivational bracelets that I wear during exercise!).
And it’s a fun hobby! The ones you made turned out so nice! And I think they’re fun to wear.

I haven’t really picked a single word for this year yet, but I picked a motto (you don’t have to, you get to”)… so “you get to” would be my choice, if the giveway is still open :)

That’s a nice motto. I’ve never chosen more than a word. Interesting. I declare the give away still open. Ha!
