It’s NaBloPoMo again and traditionally I start the month with a little post about myself. This year I managed an alphabet of getting to know me. Enjoy!
Arctic – my next adventure I am planning.
Berlin – the place I live.
Creative Soul – I only wish I’d allow myself for more time to be creative.
Democracy – something I will never take for granted.
Esposo – mine, his name also starts with the letter E.
Faith – Lutheran, important part of myself but not a huge topic on the blog.
Goal setter – I strive having goals, intentions and bucket lists.
Home – a sanctuary, my anchor, a place I spend most my time but also a thing in my heart of places I cannot be physically all the time (or ever).
Introvert – not a hermit but very much enjoy my alone time.
Jaywalking – something I am not unfamiliar with. Gotta be places but you should know where you are, whom you’re with and be safe.
Kindle – a device that changed my reading habit. (The husband voted for kissable.)
Letters – I still write them. I love receiving them.
Married – since 2014, with Mr. ♡ since 2005
Nay-sayer – unfortunately more distinct I would like to be.
Organized – mostly. I have lists and plans and hardly anything is missed… unless I procrastinate.
Profession – Marketing, Communication and Social Media.
Quark – something I wouldn’t want to live without. Favorite meal is a local dish called Potatoes and quark with linseed oil.
Reader – I love books, always have always will.
Sibling – two sisters.
Tobia – my name. Wrote about how that came to be here.
University – is something I never attended. I took night classes while holding a full time event management job. And ended up getting three degrees.
Versatile – I like a lot of things. I do a lot of things.
Word of the Year – a practice I’ve been doing for over a decade. I already know the word for 2026. I think.
Xenophile – when it comes to culture, people and knowledge. Maybe not so much when it’s interrupting my routines.
Yellow – least favorite color.
Zeppelinless – well, I don’t own one so…
Hope you learnt something new about me.
Now let me know who you are in three words! Are you doing NaBloPoMo? Are you new around here?

I had to look up quark! I guess it must be called something else in the U.S.
Me in three words: Reader, shy, and cat mom (oops, that’s four words!). I’m doing NaBloPoMo and I’m excited!
Yeahhh. So excited you are doing NaBloPoMo again. Can’t wait to read all about your move and London adventure.
also love your three words. I think I would have guessed two.
Hi Tobia! Happy NaBloPoMo! I enjoyed reading your alphabet, and I especially enjoyed clicking over to read about your name. I had no idea about the German name requirements, and I assumed Tobia was a female name just by the look of it. I wish I could hear how you pronounce it. In my mind, I say Toe Bee Ah. Is that close?
You are spot on with your pronunciation. When I was in Idaho a lot of people said Toe Bi A and I hated it.
Thanks for reading that old blog post. I would have thought you were already a blog reader when that went online.
Hi Tobia! Definitely not new around here, but it’s always fun to read an “intro” post. I actually knew (or guessed) most of these. I didn’t know you were Lutheran- which makes sense, since you don’t talk much about it on the blog. Yellow might be my least favorite color as well- definitely as far as clothing is concerned! No yellow on me.
Yes, yellow for clothes is just so horrible.
I guess if you are dark skinned it’s another thing but us white ladies…. Nope.
How amazing you would guess so many things. Kudos.
I’ve never heard of quark! I went and looked at that post, it looks really tasty. I also don’t think I’ve cooked with linseed / flaxseed oil.
This is a clever idea for a post, I wonder if it will turn up on other people’s blogs this month?
I would love to see other alphabets. Or save it up for next years introductory post.
Yes Quark seems to be a very European thing. And I have struggled to find translations. But Kyria recently talked about her discovery in form of Quark Bars.
well, if I ever host anyone from the US I will serve the dish so everyone knows what I am talking about. Ha!
Quark! Who knew :) loved the intro!
Quark seems to be the common surprise here. Happy to entertain.
Snail mail and letters! I think we should bring them back one person at a time. It’s fun and I feel like makes connections with people a little more intimate than just an email or text. There’s something about someone’s handwriting, isn’t there?
Most definitely.
I just wrote a card to my godchild yesterday while having a coffee.
And I fondly remember my pen pal friend and how we wrote 12 page letters during Covid. We stopped when she moved to Berlin but it’s a whole different way of communication now even though we go on hikes together. Letters somehow go deeper and go there faster. But I also need to have time and be in the right mood to sit down and write. I can’t do it in between tasks.
Ohh how much I love this!! Three words: mom, wife, teacher.
Looking forward to seeing you in the blogosphere this November :)
I’d love to read your version. You already got three words down. I am looking forward visiting your blog more regularly. I have been so bad in commenting lately. Sigh.
I really enjoyed reading about your name. I love quirky little tidbits of information, and having to use a registered name is a quirky tidbit. Getting three degrees through night school is amazing, well done! I don’t mind yellow as a colour but I avoid orange and yellow clothes as my colouring is no good for them.
Yes, as I already mentioned on Jennys comment I think yellow is a weird clothing color for white people. It never looks good. I think it’s something with the skin tone. Yes, my names story is a bit fun. It used to be so uncommon when I grew up and had gotten weird spellings and masculine forms almost daily. Ever since globalization hit it’s so much easier.
I don’t want to spread false information. I only did two of the degrees in night school. One I did before working full time. Still something not easily attained.
I’m so excited that you’re also doing a 101 in 1001 list! I love seeing other people’s goals and cheering on their progress.
Me in three words – anxious, interested, and artsy. I’m doing my first NaBloPoMo this month, and I’m not new to your blog but I’m new to commenting!
Oh hello. Wonderful that you are stepping out of the shadows and left your first comment. I was so happy to find your blog yesterday and see you are doing the 101 in 1001 list as well. The sites are open in my browser tab but I was too tired yesterday and figured I want to read it with fresh eyes. So my coffee is brewed and I’ll be heading over to your block to get to know you. Also happy to hear artsy is one thing you describe yourself. There are not too many artsy people in my blogosphere.
Hi Tobia! I’m glad to see your back at NaBloPoMo. I know I’ve been here before, but I didn’t know you got three degrees while in night school. That’s really impressive. I chuckled at husband suggesting Kissable. So sweet. This alphabet into was a great way to share tidbits about yourself. Clever and yes – I do remember that you have a creative side. I have two sisters too. (they’re older. Plus I have two younger brothers).
Three words that describe me: outgoing, creative, funny
Welcome back Ernie.
My husband is sweet. Not only for saying this ;-).
One degree was earned prior to the night school thing so I don’t want to make myself look better than I am. It was still an endeavor.
Love your three words. I am looking forward to connecting again.
This is so fun! What a great idea.
I’m not doing NaBloPoMo this year :(
I have FOMO but…I’m juggling various things and just don’t have the headspace for it; mostly the commenting. I already post between my blog and Patreon 7x/week most of the time. But I just can’t keep up with all the commenting and that makes me sad but…gotta be clear on priorities and right now most of them are offline!!
Hmmm. Me in three words. Laughing, reading, over-thinking.
I am really pushing myself this year too. The writing might be possible but the commenting.
For now I will try to check the blogs participating and everyone else will fall to the wayside I fear. It is a lot. I am trying though
I love your three words.
This was such a fun way to share things about yourself, Tobia! “Jaywalking” made me giggle, and I am super excited to hear more about your trip to the Arctic!
Thank you Suzanne. It was fun and most came easy but it was hard coming up with K and Z.
I just spend all afternoon writing about the arctic adventure. So stay tuned it will be published next Saturday.
What a great idea! I enjoyed getting to know you a bit a-Z style. Thanks so much for popping over to my place today. I look forward to getting to know you more this month!
It was fun writing an introduction this way – even though some words were hard to nail down. I love NaBloPoMo for getting to know new blogs. Thanks for being here.
That was a great way to introduce yourself to some new (yay!) and many seasoned readers. :)
So happy you’re up for NaBloPoMo again this year (not that I had any doubts that I could count on you, my friend! <3
P.S. Potatoes with quark is probably one of my favorite dishes!
I was a half a second considering not doing it but how could I. So here we are.
It’s the best dish. I swear.
Such an interesting post and a great way to introduce yourself to new readers and for the regulars to learn more about you :)
Studying while working full time is not easy – I’m so happy that you made it work for you. Congratulations on getting those degrees!
Describing myself in 3 words, I’d have to go with adventurous, creative, over-thinker.
It was some tough years but I am proud I managed.
I love your three words. I would add reader and photographer, no?
